Missions

ERBFacility provides for a substantial number of Short-Term Scientific Missions (STSMs) each year. The number of missions and broad priorities for these missions are approved by the Management Committee within the context of the annual Work Programme and Budget (which runs from May to April).

Calls for STSMs are published on this website (see Calls for STSMs page) and provide full details on the purpose of each call, the scientific priorities addressed, number of STSMs available, preferred timing, expected outputs, mission hosts, eligibility, application procedure, evaluation of applications, financial support available, deadlines for applications and contacts for further information.

Applications are particularly encouraged from Early Career Investigators (ECIs - i.e. those with up to 8 years of research experience FTE after the date of obtaining the PhD/doctorate) and from researchers in COST Inclusiveness Target Countries.

STSMs follow the COST guidance - for details, see section 6.5 (STSMs) of the Guidelines for Action Management, Monitoring and Assessment available here.

For completed STSMs awarded in the Grant Period 2 (May 2018 to April 2019) see here.

Information on STSMs awarded in Grant Period 3 (May 2019 to April 2020) will be posted in due course.
